AH HA HA HA AH HAAA!!!!!! MORE VIDEOS ARE COMING!!!!!!
Yes, yes, I have gone mad with the power to turn my stories into songs and those songs into music videos.
Just existing in the world right now is a whole existential crisis.
The music video for “Safe Here In Crest City” lampoons online addiction by way of flaming zombie apocalypse. It’s one of my son’s favorites of my stories, and it was such a delight seeing him cackle at all the jokes as he watched the video version.
I’ve been really amazed working with Claude Code these last two days to see how close it can come to basically just making animated movies by generating pictures with Poe, cutting them out, and moving them around like puppets, swapping out sprites. It’s downright magical.
I’m sure it adds to the magic that I’m literally making a video about the subjective nature of magic, involving animating fairies and unicorns… Even so, the work Claude’s doing is damned impressive, and it’s really amazing watching it improve itself from one video to the next.
As I work with Claude, it keeps writing itself new tools to make it easier to cut out sprites consistently and animate them better. So, just by asking Claude to do something, and then to do it better, it upgrades itself, making it easier to work with the next time around.
If you spent a quarter of a century building an actual building — a house, a cathedral — no one would find it strange that you wanted to walk around inside sometimes, enjoying the results of your hard work, appreciating your own artistry.
I have spent a quarter century building a universe, but it’s locked up tight in the books I’ve written, like a stack of blueprints. Nothing but blueprints.
But Suno can turn those words I wrote into songs, and GPT can turn those words into pictures. And Claude can turn them into videos.
And I can watch the videos made from my quarter century of labor, constantly and consistently writing words. And I can let my mind walk through my universe, listening to the songs, picturing the pictures, and remembering the videos.
